AROUSED, NEITHER BY SUGAR OR CAFFEINE.........MEANT 'BACK UNDER THE COVERS FOR PREREQUISITE DREAM CATCH UP TIME'

awakening from a dream in which I was with my parents, having my first crepes Suzette at Brennan's, in New Orleans.....my stomach grumbled for some more....Out of oranges and blood orange marmalade, I resorted to some ginger preserves from the back of the fridge.......hmmm...stick to the orange! Not that I left a dripping crumb on the plate, of course.... and the last scoops of Kona.....oh, no! The Peet's is a bit of a letdown, too...... In 'hard times' sacrifices must be made.....that coffee had absolutely no effect.....back to bed to watch Bobby Flay battle in the kitchen with Andrew Zimmern, during sunrise....

LUNCHEON ON ONCE MOLTEN GLASS......A SOUVENIR....GIFTED TO ME IN 1955...BY MY AUNT LOUISE, WHO WAS STATIONED IN JAPAN AFTER WW2 TO NURSE THE BOMB'S SURVIVORS........

a 1 a.m. Snack...... tabouli, quinoa and yellow curried chicken with grapes, walnuts, yellow raisins, shredded coconut and tumeric, eaten from a bowl made of Japanese glass, from the bombing of Nagasaki during WW2, melted and reformed into a vessel......

Sliced chicken breast, cherry tomatos, potatoes, French herbs, ginger/garlic paste, white vinegar, soy sauce, chili pepper and Creole seasoned salt

                                                    HAVING THIS FRITTER DURING AFTERNOON ' ..MAKE THAT ' COFFEE'. ...                         HAVING UTILIZED MY GRANDMOTHER'S OLD MARTIN IRON SKILLET.....                               AND SERVED WITH HER 136 YEAR-OLD FORK, WITH A 'TAL" MONOGRAM.                                  I'VE NO IDEA ABOUT WHO "TAL" WAS; HOWEVER, THE TASTE IS WAAY                                             FAMILIAR.....

WHEN A TRIP TO THE GROCERY STORE ON A COLD EVENING IS NOT VERY MOTIVATIONAL...THERE'S ALWAYS.....
