WITH ONLY 15 MINUTES TO PREPARE A LIGHT 'WOODEN BOWL' DINNER......THIS OPUS WAS COMPLETED IN 12.......LEAVING ME 3 MINUTES TO 'GET DRESSED' FOR THE CONCERT AT 8.

Last minute pre-symphony 'light dinner' a tasty slaw with vegan 'meat'balls, dried fruits, nuts and seeds and avocado ......'dressed' with a hoisin/red curry paste and plum sauce mix.....to alert the senses for Giancarlo Guerrero's animated conducting of the ASO's performance of fandangos, tangos and blaring trumpets.....

'DON'T GET ANY ON YOU'..........EVEN WHEN SANDWICHED BETWEEN BUN HALVES, THIS IS A MESSY PROSPECTIVE......

      A 'FULLY EQUIPPED' HAMBURGER........MEDIUM-RARE AND JUICY......       Another 'don't get any on you' challenge......the Pita Gyro Wrap, with a 'napkin in one's lap'....

A CRABCAKE, DELIVERED TO MY DOOR, FROM A GOOD FRIEND....AND CHEF.....

  TO WHICH I ADDED A GLOB OF FANCY, PIQUANT SAUCE AND SOME SALTY CAPERS, AFTER PLACING THE 'CAKE' UPON A DECORATIVE PLATE.......

"POT O' BEANS".......updated from the simple childhood bowl of 'beans and rice' to urbane fare....

after 12 hours of cooling down.......a pot of pinto beans, cooked for a couple of hours, with green chilis, chopped oil-cured tomatoes..as well as diced, varying-colored, cherry tomatoes, Mole sauce with powdered, unsweetened Ghirardelli cocoa, salsa verde, crushed garlic, and vegetable stock......served over long grain basmati rice, cooked in chicken stock with a copious amount of powdered tumeric, spoonfuls of yellow curry powder, harissa and red chili powders, grated scallion bulbs, chopped cilantro & parsley, and thin-sliced scallion greens, then 'topped' with old-fashioned pickle relish.......Still, perhaps, one of my favorite 'dishes' since boyhood........best, served with a crunchy iron-skillet cornbread stick that's light and airy....and fresh from the oven....

5-cheese pasta with greenery and a side of chilled, herb-roasted fowl.....

               THAT MY GRANDMOTHER HAD MADE 'SAUSAGE GRAVY ON CRUNCHY-BOTTOM BISCUIT HALVES', SPRINKLED WITH COARSE-GROUND BLACK PEPPER.....A 'COUNTRY-COOKING FAVORITE OF BOTH HER CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN.......WHICH WAS A 'KID'S FAVORITE'....BEFORE WE'D EVER HEARD OF PIZZA .   

MBR, OVER FOR A VEGAN DINNER AFTER HAVING INSTALLED MY NEW HDTV MONITOR....THREE YEARS AGO

I AWAKENED, THIS MORNING, HANKERING FOR A POTATO MUFFIN......

  THIS POTENTIAL SATISFACTION MUST WAIT, HOWEVER.....SINCE I'M NOT INCLINED...TODAY...TO MAKE AN 'OUTING' TO SHOP FOR FOOD SUPPLIES.... I RETURNED THE MUFFIN TIN TO THE WALL HOOK AND 'SETTLED' FOR SOME PBJ'S  ON RITZ CRACKERS... and.......just now......a couple of  samosas, drizzled with tamarind/ginger chutney and a small 'side bowl' of Thai red curry paste.......

THOSE BLOOD-SUCKING SHRIMP, GORGING THEMSELVES...UNSHELLED...AS THEY SWELL, TO BECOME TASTY SNACKS FOR TILDA AND TOM, "THE ONLY LOVERS LEFT ALIVE".......

             mixed vegetables (sugar & snap peas, carrots, broccoli, kale, scallion greens, bok choy and Brussels sprouts), cooked in a medieval ginger/garlic  broth of bone marrow and stock,  then drizzled with a thick teriyaki sauce....

Plump Potstickers for Tea Time ........cooked with plum sauce and hot chili oil, then drizzled with 'nutty' argan oil......

RUSK....TWICE-BAKED TOAST......TWO-BITE, TEA-TIME APPETIZERS....THEN AN EVENING OF FASTING, BEFORE A MORNING OVERLOAD, TOMORROW, OF FRENCH TOAST WITH FRUIT MARMELADES......

THE 'EASTER EGG' B'FAST.......EARLY IN THE MORNING......BEFORE THE VOLUPUOUS, GOO-FILLED DARK CHOCOLATE 'EASTER EGG' THAT WILL FOLLOW....

AS THE LEGEND GOES,  'JESUS FEEDING HIS TWELVE DEVOTEES WITH A DOUBLE CAN OF TINNED TUNA, SERVED ON A TOASTED BUN.....WAY BEFORE THE CREATION OF CHOCOLATE BUNNIES.'    LATER IN THE DAY.....'TAKE TWO'   ...THIS TIME, ON TOASTED SOURDOUGH BREAD, WITH SLICED CHERRY TOMATOES, RATHER THAN SLICED HEIRLOOMS.              And....What did the sceptics, standing at the back of the Crowd of Devotees get???                                 A 'half a slice', perhaps.....and, not likely to have been served from a porcelain plate...or with  sprigs of cilantro.....This is a crowd-pleaser,  'bait and switch' photo, of course.....
