The natural diet of chicken, America's most popular animal protein 'product', consists of flies, larvae, worms, decaying corpses and ants, and wild-caught trout gets its protein from insects".. That's often why fish leap out of the water.....In the not too future, our burgeoning human populations, having devoured 90% of the World's 'classier' animals, will have to resort to eating lower forms of life.....much, much lower.......like processed fleas, worms, maggots and larvae.....you get the picture........As much as I like 'gourmet' cooking and 'fine' dining....I have no problem that this scenario........After all.....it seems more humane to spare baby goats and beef 'veal' from our industrial carnivorousness.......make way for companies like Protix Biosystems and Agriprotein to supplant Industrial Muscle Meat Production......Anyone for fried tofu with insect larvae?
Utilization of the hand-made 'pitchfork' that a friend made a half century ago in Richard Mafong's metalsmithing class at Georgia State University...............
a mini-lunch, shared on a long-handled silver 'pitchfork' with a tiny adult 'hand fed' Pomeranian that is visiting a next door neighbor....and loved licking up the last of the dribbles of Saus Bumbu Tumis...... a glop of pumpkin/almond/ginger bread with ligonberry preserves and sliced almonds, now that 'Chi-Chi' dog has returned to her mommy's lap, taking her dripping tongue with her........although, I can see her nostrils, widening, at the potential of 'dessert'.......upps.....here she comes.....as I gobble the last crumbs, leaving a dry crust for 'Chi-Chi'.......
