PAD THAI & BODY PARTS WITH ANDREW ZIMMERN SALIVATING AT THE NEXT TABLE MAKES TOFU LOOK APPEALING





 Inspired by the hand-made noodle-making on an episode of Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown....even after seeing them, served with hare brains eaten with bunny rabbit jaw bones; bird intestines ripped from the abdomens of still-breathing fowls; and sea cucumbers, poached in coagulated osprey's blood.....I made some pad thai with tofu and shrimp to frustrate the hot chili fire gods with my blander 4 am supplication........now....it's both bed time and breakfast time.....and the time-confusions of a man, unhitched from normal sleep patterns....by 11 a.m....there'll be a zombie in the mirror and coffee in the cup.......by 8 p.m.....I'll be sleeping through the presidential dog fight....

    with a side order of Natto, washed down with spicy Indonesian cobra's blood and fizzy lamb's urine with a dollop of durian pulp.....

  Experimental Lunch.....a croissant pastry 'box' filled with crowder and black-eyed peas, okra, onions, scallions, ginger, chilis, orzo, mushrooms, diced dried apricots, green curry, Madras curry, rasam, dried dill pickle, green dragon sauce, olive bruschetta, and sweet red peppers in harissa salsa and 'painted' with hoi sin sauce/walnut oil..... served with a ladle of marinated red peppers, corn salsa, gyoza sauce and hoi sin ....i.e. clean out the fridge......a tasty little loaf...... Served with a bowl of roasted red pepper soup with hot Indonesian curry, powdered onions and garlic paste.......

This Thursday.....Thanksgiving Day.....a couple of hundred million people will be gorging on the 'products' seen on this table.....with little variation.......
