Guilty Pleasure: yet another 'cold weather' b'fast.....a crunchy grilled extra sharp cheddar cheese sandwich on 12-grain toast, fried in almond oil and butter.......Well, this IS a lip-moisturizer, isn't it?....and tastier than a Chap Stick.... "Only dull people are brilliant at breakfast!" [Oscar Wilde] The discovery of Caffeine caused a shift in early morning  attentions......Then, over the years, has become a mechanism to get humans accelerated into relatively dull forthcomings......I wonder how beavers can be so industrious on cold winter mornings, swimming icy rivers to knaw on frozen timbers.....Give Bucky a grilled cheese and a cup of Java...and he and his clan could built another Boulder Dam.....After this morning's intake of fat and java juice, I DID pick some lint from my pajamas! Perhaps, I need nicotine with the caffeine....and some harissa-infused tomato juice with tabasco sauce........

 

I DIDN'T WANT TO 'HOG' ALL THESE DELICIOUS TOMATOES.......BUT, I WAS THE ONLY ONE, I GUESS, WHO LOVED THEM......AND LAYED OFF TAKING MORE THAN 'MY FAIR SHARE', THINKING "EVERYONE WILL WANT SOME OF THESE!" ......

simple satisfaction.......Chinese eggplant, soaked overnight in sea salt brine, then roasted until creamy, with some olive oil and fiery hot tomato salsa.....rolled into tandoor-baked naan, pan seared in ghee.....a 6am breakfast on the side porch, awaiting the little yellow and orange birds, disguised as fall leaves........pecking up the "matching" crumbs from the pop-up toaster.....

    THESE 'CAKES' WERE FAR TASTIER THAN FRANK ZAPPA'S 'FISH HEAD STEAKS'.....

 Back to a temporary diet of whole grain oats, walnuts, grapes, roasted pumpkin and flax seeds, dried cranberries,  yellow raisins, sliced mangos and black cherries in organic goat's milk yoghurt, sweetened with sourwood honey and Madagascar vanilla extract.....
