A PAIR OF LUNCHEON COURSES ON 'ROYAL GLIMMER'........




moulded steamed brown rice and quinoa with black currants, eggplant and bell pepper bits, topped with pear/mango chutney; Chicken tenderloins with green curry on one side and jalfrezi sauce, sambal mahda and shredded coconut on the other; dried english peas with hot chilis and mixed wild greens in white prelibato vinegar and pine nuts roasted with black walnut oil.....the China is an older Mikasa pattern, 'Royal Glimmer', after Gustav Klimt.......silver is "Cactus" by Georg Jensen......table is by Franz Ritter von Stuck......beverage, not pictured, was pink grapefruit juice with absinthe and angustoro bitters and a splash of black cherry vodka...with a twist of orange peel....



4:00 "Tea Time"....'hold the tea....hold the finger sandwiches and French pastries'.......This is a 'late lunch'........although pastries are sure to follow.....as soon as the fig preserves 'sets', the Kashmiri Bakarkhani is spread with it....and I find the container of Earl Grey tea in the kitchen labyrinth............

a mini-lunch, shared on a long-handled silver 'pitchfork' with a tiny adult 'hand fed' Pomeranian that is visiting a next door neighbor....and loved licking up the last of the dribbles of Saus Bumbu Tumis...... a glop of pumpkin/almond/ginger bread with ligonberry preserves and sliced almonds, now that 'Chi-Chi' dog has returned to her mommy's lap, taking her dripping tongue with her........although, I can see her nostrils, widening, at the potential of  'dessert'.......upps.....here she comes.....as I gobble the last crumbs, leaving a dry crust for 'Chi-Chi'.......

THE TOUTED LARGESSE OF MEDIOCRITY....

  a visit, yesterday afternoon, to what used to be Loehmann's Plaza......now, renamed a more 'fashionable' Brighten Park...brought about a 'dinner stop' at "Eataliano-Kitchen-Atlanta", where our waitress insured us that this was the 'best Italian restaurant in Atlanta'........The food was a bit disgusting, however....... I asked "Are your chicken wings as good as the ones at Thaicoon...down the street? "...... So, minutes later a plate of greasy, underseasoned 'wings' appeared, accompanied by some wilted, tasteless 'celery sticks' and rubbery 'carrot sticks' and a bowl of el cheapo ranch dressing.....the 'commercial' kind that comes in those huge plastic jars..........ugh!......then come the desserts.......my dinner companion had a sugary chocolate brownie...made, of course, from a commercial mix.....(add water and, maybe, an egg and a cup of saturated liquid fat......probably corn oil), dump on some
